The Unique of Jambi : The Traffic

Jambi is a unique city. This is about the traffic condition in Jambi that you can't find anywhere else.

I never find any city that has such regulation. But, in Jambi, in any intersection, you could straight-away take a left turn without have to wait for traffic light. Yes, you could drive straight-away if you make a left turn.

It's a bit risky, though. Since some drivers tend to drive carelessly and there is another traffic come from different side of the intersection. But, it's rarely to have accident for such thing.

In every intersection, you still have to drive carefully and pay a lot of attention to the traffic. People in Jambi tend to go to the light after one or two second(s) it goes red. So, when you get a green light, don't straight away to accelerate your vehicle. But, see the traffic first, since most of the time, there would be some vehicle still in the junction.

It's also another uniqueness of traffic in Jambi. Police won't bother to fine you if you pass the red light. It's just a common thing there.

If you drive not in the city area or there's no police stand in the intersection, it's better that you take extra cautions. The motorcycle driver in Jambi tend to disobey the traffic light. They disregard it. That happens in uncrowded area which has less traffic.

If you drive a car, it's better that you pay extra attention to the traffic. Most of the time, if there's an accident, the car would take the blame, even though the motorcycle is the one in the fault.

It's just like a habit in Indonesia, though. People tend to blame others on their 'bad luck' and since it is regarded that the car's owner is richer, so he/she must pay for 'the mess'.

Yeah, overall, pay extra attention if you drive in Jambi. Even though, it's green, you still have to look around for any vehicle in the intersection.

Have a safe driving!

Overall, Jambi is a nice city.
